Indigo Dyeing & Japanese Shibori Slow cloth. Natural indigo. A process of reveal.
Indigo is not rushed. Built slowly through folding, binding, stitching
and immersion, each piece emerges in its own time. Patterns are revealed
only when the cloth is opened again. Held at Wester Auchraw Croft near
Loch Earn, within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park,
this is a gentle, hands-on creative experience for those who would like
to slow down, work with natural indigo dye and explore the beauty of
Japanese shibori techniques. No two pieces are ever the same.Indigo

The Experience
The day begins slowly.
You are introduced to traditional Japanese shibori techniques, including folding, binding, wrapping and simple stitch resist. Cloth is lowered into the indigo vat, allowed to oxidise and dipped again, gradually deepening into layers of blue.
There is time to work, pause and return. Tea is shared. The process continues without rush.
Over the course of the day, you create something entirely your own: a cloth or silk scarf shaped by your hands, your rhythm and the quiet unpredictability of the dye.
No previous experience is needed. All materials are provided.
